Practical AI for CHCs: Data to Quality
May 13th, 2026 | 1:00 pm CT / 3:00 PT - 90 Minutes
Artificial intelligence is quickly becoming part of healthcare operations, yet many community health centers struggle to apply AI in ways that are practical, compliant, and immediately useful. This interactive session reframes AI as a decision-support tool grounded in the data health centers already produce, financial reports, compliance documentation, revenue cycle metrics, and required operational reporting.
Designed for leaders and managers responsible for quality, operations, and financial sustainability, this session focuses on realistic AI applications that strengthen insight without increasing risk or workload. Participants will explore how AI can be used to analyze trends, surface operational and compliance risks, prioritize improvement efforts, and translate complex reporting into clear, actionable information. Through facilitated discussion, small-group exercises, and real-world scenarios, attendees will practice applying AI-supported insights to common community health center challenges such as UDS performance, cost drivers, staffing pressures, and revenue cycle variability. Emphasis is placed on governance, guardrails, and responsible use to ensure AI supports, rather than replace informed leadership decision-making.
Participants will leave with a practical framework, clear use cases, and defined next steps for responsibly integrating AI into quality improvement and operational planning efforts using existing data and systems.
Learning Objectives
Apply AI as a decision-support tool by analyzing common health center datasets (e.g., UDS, financial, and operational reports) to identify trends, risks, and performance gaps.
Develop practical AI prompts and workflows that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for quality improvement, operational planning, and leadership decision-making.
Implement responsible AI use practices by defining appropriate governance, guardrails, and validation processes that ensure compliance, data security, and informed decision-making within health center environments.
Live Participation: This session includes a breakout group activity to talk through real-life FQHC use cases and strategize with other FQHC leaders.
